William Laird Eddy
President

William has been a fundraiser since 1993 and is an expert in database analytics and direct mail fundraising.
As the former Director of Development for a homeless shelter in the nation’s capital William oversaw the creation of Major Gifts and Legacy Giving programs, and grew a direct mail program from a few hundred thousand dollars to over five million annually.
William believes that good fundraising is 50% relationship building and 50% research. He created Gryphon Fundraising so that others could share in the advantages that come from knowing how to target key donors through the use of donor analytics.
Sam Laprade
Fundraising Strategist

Sam is passionate about donor impact and experience! She began her fundraising career in 1991. Having worked in many aspects of fundraising including legacy giving, capital campaigns, direct mail and major gifts, Sam understands the challenges facing non-profit leaders.
Through various roles at organizations such as: the Ottawa Humane Society, The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and the Ottawa Mission, Sam developed her skills for both the art and the science of fundraising.
Since 2009, Sam has helped hundreds of charities and non-profits with their donor analytical needs. Over this time, she has seen firsthand the positive results from the Gryphon Report.
Sam is also the host of ‘An Hour to Give’ on CityNews 101.1 in Ottawa and 95.7 in Halifax. The show focuses on philanthropy.
